Sell a business

Plan the transition with purpose and discretion.

We work with owners considering a full sale, succession or complete transition. The process begins with a confidential conversation about the business, the desired outcome and whether an engagement makes sense.

Discuss a potential sale

A considered first step

Start before every answer is settled

An owner may be ready to transact, exploring succession or simply assessing available paths. We use the initial conversation to understand that context and identify what would need to be true for a sale process to proceed responsibly.

Submitting an inquiry does not create an advisory engagement or a confidentiality agreement. Any engagement and information-sharing protocol is defined separately in writing.

Sale process

From objectives to qualified conversations

  1. 01

Understand the business and the objective

We discuss the company, ownership context, priorities and the result the owner is seeking.

  2. 02

    Define the engagement

We agree on scope, responsibilities, information needs and the process for confidentiality before substantive outreach.

  3. 03

    Identify relevant acquirers

We research and approach potential acquirers whose interests and capabilities fit the opportunity.

  4. 04

    Qualify and facilitate

We assess interest and readiness, coordinate introductions and help manage dialogue with the owner's advisers as agreed.

For the first conversation

The useful starting facts

A concise overview is enough to begin. Include what you know today and indicate where details remain open.

  • 01Industry and principal activity
  • 02Business location and markets served
  • 03Approximate operating or financial size
  • 04Ownership structure and your role
  • 05Reason for considering a transition
  • 06Preferred timing

Controlled information flow

Sensitive information follows qualification

We do not treat an initial inquiry as permission to circulate business information. Sharing begins only after the opportunity, counterparty suitability, scope and applicable confidentiality arrangement have been considered. The level of detail should match the stage of the conversation.

Common questions

Before beginning a sale discussion

Can I speak with you while I am still exploring?

Yes. An initial conversation can help clarify objectives and possible next steps without committing you to a sale process.

What information is needed at first?

Begin with the industry, location, approximate size, ownership context and desired timing. More detailed information can follow if both sides decide to continue.

When is sensitive information shared?

Sensitive information is shared according to the agreed process after relevance, suitability and confidentiality have been addressed. An inquiry form by itself is not a confidentiality agreement.

How do you find potential buyers?

We research prospective acquirers against the mandate and assess their strategic or investment fit before seeking to advance a conversation.

What happens after the initial conversation?

If there is a basis to proceed, we define the proposed scope, information requirements and next actions. Any formal engagement is documented separately.
